of late? that's from 2013. And it was before the EUROPOP referendum, to limit migration from EU. Fun Fact: the swiss voted NOT to cap migration in 2014. and they did similar again in 2020 when presented with a referenda to stop freedom of movement with EU.

So have they stopped rejecting citizenship applications from their actual neighbours in public votes, then? Honestly, "Britain sucks!" is one thing but when people slip over into smugness about how there's no racism where they are my eyebrow goes through the roof.

Yes, the Swiss voted against that citizen application decided by public idea and instead voted to ease citizenship rules for "secondos". I live there and it's relatively straightforward for EU citizens to gain Swiss citizenship. And yes there are racists here too.
