Hilariously this is my local library so our local librarians are absolutely doing really great work (and volunteers/non librarian staff actually do the general direction stuff) en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkway... and I’d say I’ve been lucky enough to live in cities/states/places outside the us
Where this is generally true as well. I think when libraries are semi funded and well subscribed (Philly has all types of issues so I wouldn’t say ours is even well funded) the librarians do get to be superheros in a way
