US Parks Police is not a lesser known police agency for the folks in the DC/VA/MD area. They are known for their over policing with immunity. Several years ago one their officers killed a man on the GW Parkway under questionable circumstances.
In 20 years every one of these guys will be lying to their kids about how they were one of the good ones with pure motives who tried to be nice and helpful, not one of the bad racist stormtroopers.

The NPS rule on no pursuits came after a study showing they were extremely dangerous to LE & the results of pursuits were not worth the risk to officer & public safety. The NPS LE has had a very high rate of OTJ severe injury & death due to the variety of >425 park units. This admin doesn’t care.
