As a recovering catholic, this also caught my eye. I left the church as a teen because I could no longer believe the fairy tales. Then the paedophilia scandals blew up. And now they're rife with fascist supporters and whacko fringe conservativism (see SCOTUS, opus dei, Vance). Wow.

Always think of the people who have to be miserable enough to join Catholicism without the family guilt to do so. Truly, incomprehensibly mad people.
