He was thoroughly flustered, so I looked up directions on Mapquest (because my network was blocking Google Maps🙄), printed them out, walked him out of the building, and pointed him in the right direction. /7
After that, I went in and asked the facility director to put a big sign on the front door directing ENT patients to the new address. And thus, I taught my new colleagues about #universaldesignforlearning, and #tier1 interventions 😃
A prof in grad school used to say that school psychologists should be "generally useful," meaning, helpful however we can be in a given situation. I think he credited Tom Fagan with that observation. Anyway, it was nice to be generally useful today.
