I have many thoughts about this list of books but for now I’ll just say contact your MLA, the premier, the minister of education and your school trustee if you are also mad.

I’m quite confused why Three Day Road and Through Black Spruce are on this list.
I’m confused about a variety of the books, mainly because they are adult fiction titles that would not be in school library collections.
The Wars is far more graphic and it’s not on the list.
Lists like these are lately copied and pasted from American lists with little rhyme or reason (but often surrounding LGBTQIA2S+ characters or anti Christian themes.)
Those two books are definitely not on American lists though. Ugh.. whatever. Stupid Alberta, this is why I left you!
They might’ve pulled some from Canadian award winners etc and combined with the American list.
These people aren’t very original.
They’re incredibly unoriginal. One conservative playbook copying another.
I was really surprised by the number of adult fiction titles on this list. Perhaps if the government fully funded professional librarians, this would solve the problem without a draconian book ban?
How dare you employ some common sense in this scenario :) Yeah many of those books would never be in a school library collection.
Stupid functioning brain :)
Absolutely! Also, the elections are around the corner. Question the people who are running for school trustees in your area. #AbEd
I don’t remember anything explicit in Atlas Shrugged but it sure moved me as a teen. All of Rand’s books did.
And contact them repeatedly. Call, email, the lot
Im sorry dude. We get a few challenges but not many. Ill be reviewing it and contacting the politicos
"The Diviners"? 50 years ago this fall, my Grade 11 English teacher at Paul Kane HS in St. Albert introduced Margaret Laurence to me and my classmates with that (now-classic) Prairie novel. Has it really been that long? 🤔 Let's say it wasn't controversial then and shouldn't be now. Unbelievable.
I’m buying the Flowers in the Attic series for every library #readsingenx
It's hard not to see how the majority of the books on this list are written by women.
Oh, FFS.
The people banning books are never on the right side of history….
On the upside, it is a great recommended reading list. These books make you think, which is exactly why people want to ban them.
