I’ve watched the videos back, and it is curious how both the George flag and the NI flag are conspicuous by their absence when the UK, Scottish and Welsh flags are there. It may be as banal as them coming as a job lot then distributed for the photo op, and I don’t think it would have rehabed much.

There isn't a Northern Irish flag.

Yes and no. While the only official flag is the Union flag, the Ulster Banner is used in this capacity in some circumstances such as sporting events where NI competes separately, such as the commonwealth games.

But no flag is used for Northern Ireland in a political capacity, and to do so would upset a lot of people, so it's best to avoid doing so.

Yep… it’s a genuine issue that no political parties (including UKip/ Reform *UK*) acknowledge that England exists.

It stems from the idea of conflating England with the UK in the global consciousness. If it were seen as simply an equal partner with the other nations then the whole edifice will crumble. These silly buggers painting the roundabouts are unwitting allies to independence movements.

Well yes but also said consciousness stems from government policy and structure!
