He’s such a useless sack of cack.
Just another person escaping the X binfire. Left wing, and most of the assumptions you’ve just made about that are true. He/him. Otrovert.

“Well yes, they have provided material assistance to a genocide, impoverished the disabled, frozen the elderly, aided the persecution of trans folk, accelerated the privatisation of the NHS and stoked racial hatred, but they HAVE cracked down on SOME “ninja swords”. So fair enough!”
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
They attack my friends on a daily basis. This has the same energy as asking me to overlook the Holocaust because Hitler was a vegetarian.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean, it’s consistent to form.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social)
Yikes. I hope nobody here voted @mothinali.bsky.social for deputy leader of the greens…
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social)
Hi @greenjennyjones.bsky.social , I don’t know how to tell you this but Douglas Carswell has always been a massive, evil, fascist, racist scumbag.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Sounds very well organised and functional.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
No, I say four of them are not pro trans rights because they have said so. You’re the one with the (non) name of the party in your name, so I think you’re the obsessive one.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
We’re still the least democratic country in Europe. The only other European country to use first past the post is Belarus, and they have a few more problems on top.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, have a mute.

You just know some of these lads are aching to add four extra lines to the ends of the cross.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
What a worthless remark.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Ramsay would be more at home in the LDs, I think. Ironically, Sultana seems to have more in common with most greens.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
MPs associated with “Your Party” have directly called for segregation of trans people and the removal of LGBTQ+ education from schools. One Green MP has said that if people in the Green Party expressed similar views then they would not be removed. Neither is good, but one is worse.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
As a side note, Ramsay is such a disaster as co-leader that only 9% of *green voters* know who he is.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
If, as I would expect, Ramsay and Chowns lose badly, I’d hope these two MPs recognise that their position is not one that will be tolerated by members.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s a fair point; Ramsay said things that indicated that transphobes would be tolerated in the party and failed to clarify or retract, and Chowns as his running mate has declined to contradict. So it crap but at the lower end of this nonsense, and why I voted for Zack.

🚨 Netanyahu WROTE the latest ceasefire plan. Hamas AGREED. Netanyahu killed it. @haaretzcom confirmed that Egypt took the plan that Netanyahu wrote, told Palestinians to agree to it word for word. They did. Netanyahu then REJECTED HIS OWN PLAN.

Burnham seems to be a decent person with an intact moral compass and a nice line in evidence based policy. I wouldn’t be against him as PM.

Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
I think this all just comes from the habit of viewing politics through academic and media lenses rather than its effect on humans, but I know Institutions like Oxford and the BBC will do that to you. But maybe I’m just being kind due to the thoughtful, considered head tilt in his profile pic.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social)
A very worthwhile read.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social)
I mean, seriously, it’s right there. It’s called “Policy Exchange”. An Exchange is where you buy and sell stuff, and it’s where politicians go to sell their policy stance to the highest bidder. It should be illegal. Instead it’s a charity.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Just because folks don't want people who were not born white to not be allowed into the bathroom of their choice does not mean they are racist. It means they are just not comfortable with you being in there with their precious children as how do they know what you’re doing.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Great, so you only disagree with the straw man you attributed to me. Glad that’s sorted. 👍
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
On what? Do you think there’s an alternative reason why people on BlueSky don’t care much about PE premises being vandalised? People don’t care as much when bad things happen to bad people as they do when they happen to good people. Do you seriously disagree with that? Because that’s my point.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Do they have an offer on straw men in the middle of Lidl? I didn’t say this has merit. I said it was bad, as you pointed out, I’m just here to help you with your puzzlement as to why people on Blue Sky can’t bring themselves to care much when the stuff PE does harms them daily.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Because if this crap persists, we don’t actually have a functioning democracy, we just have the wealthy buying the laws that favour them.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
With respect, that’s just waffle. Who do I vote for to end this policy purchase crap? Votes for women were won through violence. Stonewall was a riot. The poll tax wasn’t stopped through polite conversation. Apartheid didn’t end in SA because Mandela made a good speech. Come on, Ben, think.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Unless there is more info here that I’m not aware of, we don’t even know if any staff were present or directly affected. I do want to understand from Ben how he suggests we do protest these unaccountable organisations and the influence they are subsidised to have. This isn’t it, but what instead?
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Two, in fact. Great observation.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
People are struggling to be very upset about this, Ben, because of the absolute pile of excrement that PE is. It’s not that this is supported, it’s just that people don’t care as much when bad things happen to bad people, and you can’t make them.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, but at least he won’t be leader in a couple of days.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
At least two of the others are essentially pro Section 28. The party is DOA. It only exists because Corbyn is too sure of his status as the one true socialist and too prideful to join the Greens.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Of the four less well known MPs associated with the party, he was the one I held out most hope for. But no. Disappointing, but not surprising.

My understanding is that he hailed from what is now the border region of Turkey and Syria. Ascribing him to any modern nation is false, really, but he certainly wasn’t English.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
It stems from the idea of conflating England with the UK in the global consciousness. If it were seen as simply an equal partner with the other nations then the whole edifice will crumble. These silly buggers painting the roundabouts are unwitting allies to independence movements.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes and no. While the only official flag is the Union flag, the Ulster Banner is used in this capacity in some circumstances such as sporting events where NI competes separately, such as the commonwealth games.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ve watched the videos back, and it is curious how both the George flag and the NI flag are conspicuous by their absence when the UK, Scottish and Welsh flags are there. It may be as banal as them coming as a job lot then distributed for the photo op, and I don’t think it would have rehabed much.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Meanwhile, your leader is busy stoking anti-immigrant sentiment and making xenophobic tweets with racist imagery. Perhaps you could have a word?

Fuck sakes you Yankee pillock. Can you read? I have a party - the Green Party, that has been established for 35 years. If any party is splitting the left, it’s the new one which doesn’t actually exist yet and has a majority of its prospective MPs wanting to remove rights from minorities.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
I prefer a great many people to any of those. But you’re presenting a false dichotomy.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
…twice, leading a group of socially conservative Muslims who would reverse LGBTQ rights plus Sultana, who I have much time for but cannot carry the party by herself. It has no name and a clear policy on allotments but not on human rights, and is rapidly becoming farcical.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ll not be part of a party that throws my trans friends under a damn bus for the sake of “unity” or some other bullshit. I have a party that is pro trans rights. It has four MPs and will soon have a charismatic new leader. And a name. “Your Party” is lead by a man the electorate has rejected…
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
Corbyn has a bizarre blind spot that manifests itself as a kind of inverted racism where he is willing to overlook the faults of his colleagues *because* they are Muslim, and instead has suspicion of non-Muslims and Europeans, hence his euroscepticism.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s most of the prospective parliamentary party. Like I said, if you are unable to support LGBTQ rights, you were never on the left. If you want a genuinely left wing party, we already have one in the Greens. Corbyn’s just too prideful to admit it.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
…blockers ban. Khan is a self-described social conservative who opposes same sex marriage. He’s difficult to pin down specifically on trans rights, but clearly finds it difficult to overtly support them. So I’d tend to say 60% of those MPs are either overtly transphobic or inclined that way.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m also gen X. The MPs attached to the party are Corbyn, Sultana, Shockat Adam, Adnan Hussein and Ayoub Khan. Adam and Khan are both members of a parliamentary group that helps parents lobby against inclusive LGBTQ education in schools, while Adam has also spoken in favour of the gov puberty…

No, no you didn’t. Both of them were pro-Israel. Part of the same shitty liberal centrist tradition that only knows how to tack right.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s not a conspiracy. It’s people on the left sick to death of parties providing a home for bigots. There’d be nothing to divide if there was just a commitment to trans rights, but 50% of the MPs committed to the new party are overtly transphobic.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
If you tolerate the persecution of a minority you are not on the left at all.

It wasn’t a thought experiment. It was your moral justification for being an asshole.
Xander King (@xanderking.bsky.social) reply parent
It isn’t. Because in the first one you are positively voting for some people to die. The reason everyone on here can see you’re stupid, is that there has never, is not, and never will be the binary choice that you portray. So your “thought experiment” is worthless. And idiotic.
