Fvck. I'm a Pennsylvanian. Governor Shapiro is awesome, but also one of the free remaining D statewide officials. We still don't have a budget passed for 2025 (it's going to be September in a couple days) because the R majority in the state Senate refuses to pass a bill.

PA is weird. Of the 67 counties, maybe eight or nine are hard D. Thankfully those are where most of us live. The rest of the state are hard R. After several special elections over the last couple years, Dems have been holding a bare majority in the state House. Senate, not so much.
Michigan was very purple leaning blue until the auto industry died in the 1980s and early, early MAGA voters voted in John Engler for 12 hellish years. Michigan has never recovered.
Worst governor's it is a tie between the damage done by Engler and/or Snyder.
Not a tie! Engler was the worst by far! He destroyed Public Ed/Mental Heath through executive orders! I did have a published comment on the Detroit Free Press editorial page the night before Snyder's 1st election that if "This was the best endorsement the Free Press can offer for Snyder don't vote"!
