Honestly the development of broken-up non-centralized platforms with their own identities is probably a healthy step for the world. It brings down the temperature a tad on the idea of being constantly exposed to shit you hate, which has been degrading to the human experience.

For most of humanity’s existence we were not required to receive a push notification every time somebody on the other side of the planet did something cruel or used a word you don’t like. I am pretty sure that NOT knowing these things is what the emotional centers in our brains prefer

If the concern is that we will no longer live in a consensus reality, then I honestly double-dog-dare you to look me in the eyes and tell me that mass-scale platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and X were meeting that concern in a positive way
