I was understanding of your points until this, I’m sorry but I find that truly baffling and don’t think we’d meet eye to eye if I replied more sincerely in discussion. I was aware of the bridge between his misogynistic views in early UC until Turn A already and part of why I watched it.
Haha fair enough that it sounds crazy, but theres alot to love in Victory for me personally with how interesting it is as a work that Tomino himself hates due to the bad experience he has working on it. Like I totally understand not liking it for other reasons besides the misogyny we talked about.
But one of the big reasons why i love it is because of how much better the animation and movement is. While it has great visuals & direction in alot of the scenes. It reminds me of 0079 where they feel so fluid and less like laser battles in Zeta, ZZ or CCA that I find boring.
Turn A and 0079 are the only ones to rival all of these aspects in Victory to me and are basically better shows than Victory. On the characters theres Fuala which you might remember, and shes really one of the best iteration Tomino's psychotic evil woman ever. And there are so many ideas in the show
Alot of interesting ideas like the sudden one off episode where it goes full environmentalism. Its abrupt and doesnt get brought up outside whats being implied in the background like ruined cities but its so evocative. I could go on about Victory honestly but its conflicted nature is why I love it
I specifically replied what I did because I did not want to see more Victory posting when I very very vehemently disagree with you and was trying to be polite. I locked my original posts so I didn't get this. I genuinely hate this show and am trying not to reply and take it out on you, honestly.
Alright apologies because i thought you hate it for all its writing and ideas and not its direction also lol. I basically agree with you about Victory being Tomino's wilder ideas turned into a psychosexually charged show of how Uso lacks mother and the women go insane because they dont become one
You do have to forgive my hostility but I consider this the single worst anime I've ever had the displeasure of viewing and I find it has no redeeming qualities besides it's music and some nice drawings here or there.
Its what i mean about it being interesting cuz its a fascinating peek into Tomino's head that I dont condone or agree with. Its not straightforward with its misogyny like the earlier series. He went truly woke with Turn A anyways
Yeah the literary comparison makes it worth my time because it's interesting seeing it after 3 eps of Turn A.
