Someday I'll tell you my story of my year of psychosis and how I stopped believing in diabetes and all medication, stopped eating and drank only stuff with sugar. My A1C was unbelievable. I'm right around 7 now. I'm lucky I'm not dead and no permanent damage to anything. That was a wild ride.
When I was diagnosed I was drinking literally 5 or 6 44 ounce regular Mt. Dew Code Red fountain drinks per day. They almost hospitalized me, my AIC was so damn high. It would not read that high on their office equipment.
The higher the glucose goes, the more dehydrated we become and the more we drink. My skin couldn't even absorb lotion.
I can still NEVER get enough to drink even when I had mine so well controlled I was at nearly normal folk level.

Oh, my friends tried that with me when I was sick and they were intervention. Nasty stuff. I wouldn't touch it but then again, I was not going along with any plan to help me which is, in hindsight, kind of funny. 🤭

Prescribed in the "resort" aka as mental health facility. Nasty stuff. I had to to drink in front of the nurse. So gross.
I am so lucky. The one I went to most often, yes most often, actually is like a kinda cheap resort. I'd love to have a little stay to be honest but the kitty cats.

I would love to get within the 6 range but it isn't budging. 7 is soooo much better. One thing I will never do again is liquid sugar. I'm never not thirsty. SSRIs do not help with that. What do you do but drink a lot? 🤷🏼♀️
I won't allow myself regular soft drinks anymore.
Unsweet tea, all day, all night. I'd do an IV if I could set it up myself.
