Mostly patent litigation and licensing, but I have also served two publicly traded Silicon Valley companies as general counsel, so I have experience in HR, M&A, and corporate compliance, as well. How about you? What have you done as a lawyer?

So very very very little experience of criminal practice in particular criminal defense work. You are in absolutely no position to pontificate upon the ethical quandaries that serious criminal defense work involves resolving.
My practice of law began in 1982 as a paralegal in a serious felony defence firm. Mainly representing MDSOs, though also robbery other violent crime including capital murder. I passed the bar 1985 My practice has run the gamut from organised drug importations and violent crimes, but I specialised…
In sex crimes, including child pornography, on line grooming, historic cases and sexual abuse in institutional settings. In my time I have cross examined thousands of witnesses conducted hundreds of trials, and appeared in appeal courts on numerous occasions.
38 years as. a criminal defense and civil rights trial lawyer here. Occasionally do civil trial work when required.
Nevertheless, all of us are subject to the same ethical rules, and so I am in a position to weigh in on that topic, which is all I have done.
There is no ethical quandary with respect to Maxwell. Representing her on her appeal or in the regular pardon process is ethical. Joining in a sham legal process of a proffer with a known liar as witness who no ethical DOJ attorney would put up in a trial is unethical. This is politics, not law.
You are an idiot
@taojonesing.bsky.social bored with your nonsense 🔇
bsky.app/profile/taoj... As I said nonsense This patent attorney 🙄 presumes Markus acted unethically, without a jot of evidence That the DOJ has acted in an extraordinary fashion DOES NOT IMPLICATE the defense attorney in any wrongdoing — except to dickhead know nothings (agree @bmaz.bsky.social ?)
Absolutely agree. Markus hasn't done anything wrong or that any good defense atty wouldn't do....exploit your openings where you find them. If the government is screwed up, take advantage of it for your client.
Have you ever resigned a lucrative position because of ethical concerns? I have. Maybe you think having ethics is being an idiot. Please realize you are not defending Maxwell’s attorney, you are being defensive w/o having the facts. That shows poor judgment. Not my fault.
