From Caernarfon right into the heart of Snowdonia to Beddgelert. I couldn’t get near Gelerts grave for all the tourists but hopefully got some other good pics. There was a full sundog the whole time. I’m on the train now apart to go back and it’s still there!!!

It’s incredible scenery, right into the heart of snowdonia. I’ve seen it completely differently from going through in a car. The smell of the steam and the noise 😍 🚂 💛

It seems like it’s akin to traveling back in time. Remarkable!

That's a lovely run. Did it a few years back, while I had an exhibition running in Caernarfon. We had the red NG130 engine, formerly of South African Railways. Gelert Explorer.

I think that might be the one we were on, I’ll have to check my pics when I get home. It was absolutely wonderful 🚂 💛

I love all the steam trains in Wales, espeicially the narrow guage ones. 😄

I’ve never been on this particular stretch before. I wanted to take my grandson on the one that goes to the top of Snowdon but I didn’t realise you have to book literally months in advance to get on that one. This one has been absolutely wonderful though, I’m really pleased 🚂 💛

Wow! months in advance! Last time I was up there, which was years ago there were long queues of an hour or more. So we ended up walking up to the top, beautiful but exhausting espeicially in hot weather. We only managed to ride the train once by catching it at the station part way up.
