The church and priory are still there but whereas in the past, they owned the entire county, now they own the land they occupy only so there’s a lot of leftover infrastructure. That particular gate would have gone to priory gardens, most probably

Nice! Beautiful wall and gate, your photo allows us to imagine what the home it used to protect looked like. I started watching Jeremy Clarkson’s show on Prime. His neighbor Gerald, rebuilds the stacked stone walls beautifully.
