I was in NZ for a while in the mid '60s (Deepfreeze) and the beer was served warm then and you had to be a guest at a hotel (it was like a speakeasy, just knock on the door and a guy would peek-out amd let you in if you were not a guest) and they had Lemon to add to the beer. Aussies like it cold.
