Schools, in general, are shitty employers imo. Lots of support staff are well and truly underpaid. Some have contracts that basically mean they are part time, don't get paid when teachers are on holiday. Few are living wage employers. Teacher aides have a really tough job and deserve better.

I was thinking of the logistics of setting up a supermarket in Palmy. You need a metric fuckton of land, you don't want to really be on the outskirts - unless you are a LOT cheaper. Palmy has 9 supermarkets - about 1 per 10,000 people. Would 1-2 more really change the dynamic/prices much?

Although National are the worst at it, every NZ Government seems to say Teachers are overpaid and every NZ opposition says we aren't paid enough. It's tiring being a political football, and I'd rather have the pay set independently.
