This is important. And before anyone says “but Trump is worse”… In a primary, our choice isn’t “Trump vs Newsom”. It’s choosing which dem we want running against trump’s successor. And in that primary, we *must* reject Newsom. His treatment of unhoused people is also awful (look it up).
It’s our primary, not Newsom’s. We have to send the message loud and clear. “Do what you must to save 2026, but you are not Mr. 2028.” Buttigieg has not earned my approval on the issue either, fwiw.
Absolutely. Buttigieg wasn’t as bad, and I’ll give him a chance to do better (and he must), but Newsom has already shown that he will throw us (and unhoused people!) under the bus to get elected, and that is something he can’t undo. I’ll never be able to trust him.
