No, the left has lost the plot. None of what Cooper said should be controversial. Stop ceding the flag to the far-right. The mosque in Birkenhead that found a Union flag on their railings and flew it proudly in their window had the right idea. It amazes me that the left keep taking the bait.

Just take your flags and go away. I don't want any of them. I've never flown a flag. I never will. I don't see the point. And I just want politicians to deal with inflation, and repair our broken public services, not get in a pissing competition over who can cover themselves in more pointless flags.

Disassociating them with the far right will likely only work if people display 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and 🇬🇧 flags alongside flags the far right find objectionable, like EU 🇪🇺and 🏳️‍🌈 flags.
