Every media outlet that’s owned by a billionaire will do the same. The billionaires want the Republicans because Republicans won’t regulate them and tax them.

I think it’s more akin to the fact capitalism is dead, and given the choice between socialism and fascism, the billionaires and the two political parties they own prefer fascism to socialism by 3 to 0.
