It’s incredible how useless and frustrating “business” tech is these days. 8 cores at 3.9Ghz, 32Gb of ram, 1Tb SSD, and i can’t even scroll a webpage or a PDF without lagging. I can’t search a MSTeams conversation without it giving me results from local files. Sorting by date is not an option.

Sorry to hear but when you lookup an 8 core 3.9Ghz processor it shows either an AMD that came out in 2019 or an Intel 4th generation that came out in 2013. When processor released matters. Also Teams is a memory hog & by default runs in memory even if not open, check your resource monitor.

Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U, from 2021. And it’s really the software that is bullshit, i can run VR games acceptably on that laptop, but MSTeam, Outlook, Sharepoint and Acrobat are just running like garbage. If i kill all the “business” stuff, it works great! But this is the work laptop.

Since you known you can kill the business stuff and it's works, something to do with 1 or more of these biz apps are sucking up resources. Also besides deleting your browser's cache, delete your local PC's windows temp files located in c:\users\(your login)\appdata\local\temp if you haven't.

Companies using Teams have a lot of possible 3 party vendors might use but I'd guess the server or hosted server's hardware isn't as strong as it should. In addition Microsoft just stopped supporting teams on a 2016 server as a app yet 2016 server isn't end of life for the OS until jan 2027.

Sounds like something is sucking up bandwidth. Your network could be very busy and the router is having trouble feeding everybody. If you've downloaded a PDF file onto your computer and then open it, it shouldn't lag if it's a network issue. It will lag if it's the computer itself. Background app ?
