Strongly agree. I was so excited for that game to come out then when it did it felt like such a downgrade from Morrowind. The level scaling just killed it for me. It eliminated risk and made the world feel so much less real. Unlimited fast-travel didn't help either.

Right, the level scaling on particularly just sucked, one of the joys of Morrowind was wandering into the wrong place at low level and getting fucking vaporized by a Flame Autronach

Also the elaborate fast travel routes: “I’ll Recall to my house and then Divine Intervention to the temple, then walk over to the Mage’s Guild to teleport to a place I can get a silt strider”

Exactly. Stuff like that goes a long way towards making a world feel real. When you can just go anywhere at any time it ceases to be an interconnected world and becomes just a series of disjointed scenes.
