My family had a Beta machine growing up. My understanding is the quality was better than VHS but in practice what it meant was we had less choice at the video store and eventually no choice at all. Also, the Beta tapes only had one tape spool. We eventually had to get a VHS machine.
Some of them have good points and it's still not productive. I always tell leftists being right is only 20% of politics. The other 80% is convincing other people. Or I used to say that back when I engaged with them. It's been awhile.
I see sports as more or less intrinsic to humanity so it would be futile to be against them, per se. What is worthwhile is illuminating and trying to reform/mitigate the negative or pernicious aspects like gambling, corruption, CTE, etc. All that stuff should be exposed as much as possible.

Strongly agree. I was so excited for that game to come out then when it did it felt like such a downgrade from Morrowind. The level scaling just killed it for me. It eliminated risk and made the world feel so much less real. Unlimited fast-travel didn't help either.
