this rhetorical trick fucking sucks. these areas aren't uniformly white assholes. that's who VOTES there, not the only people getting fucking killed by their politics. this gleeful shit is just eugenic horseshit with a "lefty" coat of paint, man fire all the cops and fund the hospitals.
They should decline to fund them not out of spite for how they voted, but out of basic triage principles. The finite pile of money is best spent where the people and jobs are. Further degradation of quality of life in urban areas will ultimately affect rural ones anyway
Also rural areas already have a limited amount of funding allocated to policing. Eliminating a SD with like 5 deputies isn't replacing the loss of federal funds. Ultimately people are arguing urban areas should make do with less money so that rural life can be subsidized, which is just bad economics
