This looks like GTAV

So much concrete π That poor park looks like itβs being held hostage
Reminds me of that Doctor Who episode with the underground highway. This is just the early version.
I'm sure it looked good on paper. π
I visited LA two years ago for a week and walked over that bridge, and the experience is so burned into my brain that I recognized it immediately
Yeah same, saw this when walking around after going to the Broad
...but fails to mention which city it is.
Oof. Where are you?
DTLA
Hooboy. What a shame.
In time there will be massive structural issues caused by water and tree roots.
San Andreas fault laughing at this take. π
Dystopian

The way the first 40 feet above ground are completely dedicated to car infrastructure, the first level for human activity is this artificial platform in the sky lol
I love that hotel but the area around itβ¦ yeah π If you come to Little Tokyo itβs a lot more pedestrian friendly!
I β€οΈ Little Tokyo! I will find a way to stop there every time I'm in town haha bsky.app/profile/moni...
But the walk from Union Station to Little Tokyo is so unpleasant. Is there a subway stop there?(yes, I can look it upβ¦.)
Yes! It's a very short ride but the little Tokyo station is great
Cool. Should have looked for that last time. We had a layover waiting for the SW Chief (before we discovered that changing trains in Fullerton is better) and walked over.
Good thing they donβt have earthquakes in LA
Looks like a video game.
It certainly is.
Won't be long...
Where is it?
don't want to be there when the big one hits, for sure.
Grotesque.
Miami?
Stayed right on that block for a work trip. The design is bonkers and pedestrian hostile
At least there is a bridge to the Y. π¬
Downtown LA?
Yup. Across from the Westin, I believe.
In odd coincidences I opened the app again to this post, while holding this very beer π¬
Enjoy that, Daniel. π
I snuck over to Hopnonymous for a couple of pints this afternoon. π
Was there last year, trying to walk back from an event to get to hotel was challenging.
That was me too. Its a mess of escalators and elavators
Tried to walk back to the Westin in Oct 23, and ended up on sidewalks that disappeared on those off- and on-ramps. Ran like hell to safer path, then discovered the 5th floor skybridges the next day. Do try the sushi place Te Isshoku, hidden in the Bunker Hill steps up from LAPL.
