Pretty sure our central AC bit the dust this weekend. I heard it try to kick in with a click but haven't seen the fan move and it's getting toasty. Thankfully summer is wrapping up here so I should be able to save up before next summer. You know if I sell a kidney or two...

It's Wisconsin, the trees are changing and we've already had a frost advisory overnight. We might have a few hot days here and there but we'll make due with fans and iced beverages. Maybe a couple extra showers too.
It has to get below freezing and be cloudy before we turn the heat on. Otherwise it's A/C 24x7x365.
That's how we are too normally as neither of us fair well in heat. I feel the worst for my wife as she's 100% remote for work so if it gets too bad she'll go to a coffee shop and do what she can there. I was excited the other night when I got to put on a sweatshirt because it was cool in the evening
Well it's also we live 150ft off the ground in a concrete and steel building with shit windows and a southern exposure. If the sun is out, we bake. You know, 33rd parallel stuff. No, seriously, this apartment is unlivable in 2-4hrs without A/C about 98% of the time. We'd have to go to a hotel.
Ouch, yeah that'll do it for sure. Most of our windows are terrible and don't really offer much relief.
And we had light tint put on years ago that block at least most of the UV and I think like 50% of the heat. They approved new windows a few years ago but can't find a vendor to stay in business long enough to be on the approved list. But all the common area windows are being replaced next year.
Ours did the same thing. It was the mother board.
We've already had the mobo on this one swapped out and coolant recharge previously. I just don't have the wiggle room in the budget for this type of fun at the moment. 😭
Hopefully it's just a capacitor! Much cheaper than a new unit
I was thinking about breaking out my multimeter this weekend as I know how to replace it if it's needed, and crossing my fingers it'll limp along for a bit longer. 🤞
