Oh it’s gonna be bad. I currently design kitchens and sell cabinets and countertops. Necessary luxuries - things that if you own a home you need to do at some point, but only in times of abundance. Finished top ten in July for performance in my region (~400 people). I didn’t bonus.
In other words, despite being top ten for a region for a massive corporation, I didn’t sell enough to bonus. That’s a terrible sign of what’s coming. While July is the slowest month in the industry, it’s never been THAT slow. And it’s not picking up. Orders are drastically smaller.
And the corpo is dropping prices below profitability to entice people, but it’s not working meaning we’re just taking pure losses with every sale. All that to say, shits gonna get really fucking dark. This looks and feels worse than 2007-2008 when everything just crashed.
