Agree, when push comes to shove , Deform will be left well behind. It’s all hype

Ok, so Corbyn peels off Labour votes, which will let in someone else in many constituencies. That ‘someone else’ will be either Reform or Conservative. If the Tories do a deal with Reform, you could see Nigel Farage as PM. Just because we don’t want it to happen doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
I don’t believe any remaining Labour voters would vote for Corbyn.. but Greens would because a lot of the Corbyn cult went there..it’ll be that 10% washing around the system ..and Reform is already underperforming despite the hype .. vote Reform get a used Tory won’t win in North, Wales or Scotland
Have you any evidence that Corbyn supporters joined the Green Party ??
Yes they said they had !
They freely tell us. They all decamped to the Greens because the Messiah wasn’t allowed to lose 3rd election in a row, and then Labour had the temerity to win an election without him.
Who are “they”? And who are “us”?
They .. the Corbyn supporters who put in their bios on X etc they were ex Labour and joining Green Party .. Us .. the Labour members who challenged them on these platforms and were called centrist etc for doing so .. too many to count..
Exactly
🤣 never bought into that whole 'saviour of Labour' merde! Massive ego trip. Mediocre at best.
No, not even that good. A protestor not a politician. One of his followers was my former MP. She wasn't reselected so left the Labour party and constantly maligns it now.
I'm amazed so many fell for his 'humble rumpled saviour' farce!
A lifelong trouble maker. It runs in his family I think.
The brother would suggest so
Yes, that's who I was thinking of; over privileged public school boys.
Corbyn has undermined every Labour leader he has worked under, and has a history of being the most rebellious MP in Parliament. The only time he wasn't rebelling and undermining the leader was when he was in the position.
Amazed people bought into his shtick!
It is not so much that people like Corbyn. We all have our opinions; it is the cult worship that I dislike. I voted for Starmer, but I am more than happy to criticise him over policy.
lol. I’ve tried to explain to Compo nutjobs that voting for Labour under Starmer doesn’t mean I agree slavishly with everything he says of does. But because that’s how they see the world, that’s inconceivable to them.
Same here. I don't explain any more. I feign deafness or slip out of the conversation.
Hi Hannah - for some reason the person you’re replying to here blocked me - do you mind telling me the point they made?
Hi Johann. She seems to doubt that the Corbyn movement joined the Greens party.
Well, the leading Momentum people in my constituency party joined the Greens and stood as Green candidates last May.
Indeed. And they quite happily tell us that this is where they went.
Corbyn aspired to mediocre. There's a reason he was a backbencher for 32 years before a bunch of ridiculous Labour MPs put him on the ballot 'for a laugh' in 2015. That little wheeze cost us Brexit and 2 elections, not very funny now.
Not that ridiculous - Margaret Beckett did it to give the Left a voice in the debate. It’s healthy. Corbyn would never have returned that favour for candidates of the Right
Worked out well then didn't it
I agree. He couldn’t accept Blairite Labour votes were worth persuing - he wasn’t prepared to be leader of the WHOLE party, and he was indifferent to the EU, which he still believes it is a capitalist club (which it is) and not a peace project (which it also is).
Well this is just an unhinged misrepresentation of reality
Exactly. He was, quite literally, a joke candidate. And now the deranged fuckwit thinks he’s the Born Leader Of All Englishmen Appointed By The Baby Jesus Himself. And the cult swallow it down.
🤣
He was a backbencher for 32 years because he wasn't corrupt as fuck like all the senior people in the party
Never forgiven them for their stupidity
Especially Margaret Beckett, she knew what he was and had been at the top of the party for God's sake.
Yeah, but he was right on basically everything he rebelled on
Corbyn ‘gets the big calls right’
Correct
Me neither. He was shocking as leader. Refused to talk to the media. Sulked constantly. Avoided Brexit like the plague.
Yep. Exactly!
When asked about Corbyn setting up "Your Party" the other day, the Chancellor said he has a big ego, and that accurately sums him up.
Yep. It really does.
Many of them only joined the Labour Party when he became leader. No loss.
There are LABOUR MPs who would vote for Corbyn, never mind Labour voters! 😊 You’ve got a short memory. Obviously there is plenty of time for Corbyn’s party to make a hash of it, but even if they do, I still think they’re going to lose Labour seats by appearing on the ballot paper.
Frankly I’m amazed Abbott , Burgon and about 3 others ( Kim? Liverpool etc ) haven’t yet .. and the why they haven’t is more interesting to consider ..😎
It is very interesting. I think their calculation is they’re ’waiting for traction’ and would only join once the initial excitement has subsided. If they join now and it all fizzles out (à la SDP), their careers will go ‘Chuka Umunna’ - he was a future leader of the Labour Party once upon a time.
They’re probably also frightened they won’t be pure enough 😎😂
They should undergo a series of ideological tests… each one more gruelling than the last
😂
Exactly.. or more succinctly: financial self interest.. Zarah did same in standing as a Labour MP in GE knowing she’d fixed 5 years salary and could ditch them after a few weeks .. principles?😂 If she had any she’d enable a by election ..
Have you seen how many have joined his party? www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/hun...
And he still won’t be the next, or any, PM. Cranks are easily pleased.
It's not a party, it's a mailing list that anyone in the world can sign up to.
Exactly. A fan club for an ego. Nothing more. And in few years when the Glorious Socialist Utopia isn’t delivered because Corbyn gets fuck all votes, they’ll start the “we’re the real victims here” shit all over again.
All this is irrelevant. His party will split the Labour vote and let in Farage imho
It will definitely not split the Labour vote, it’ll take votes but not enough to have any meaningful impact.
Well, Reform split the Labour vote last time without any meaningful impact. You mean like that?
It's more likely to hurt Greens which is annoying as in 2025 they are better at being a left wing alternative party.
He's already lost massive support by refusing to support LGBT people because a couple of MPs in his alliance are deeply anti LGBT. He's a coward. This is like with antisemitism all over again.
Yeah, maybe. He’s still going to makes some sort of impact, based on the nutty FPTP system in the UK
He needs people willing stand as MPs who can win seats. And he'll be 80 then too.
Good point - they really need to get their act together quickly to establish some new faces. I think ‘Momentum’ is a good name for their party - it’s got a brand recognition from the Corbyn years.
I’m with Ruth on this. The Compo nutjobs wouldn’t vote for Labour to save their lives. They were mostly going to vote Green, and if (and it’s a big if) Compo can get people to stand in their constituencies, the greens will lose out.
That’s perfectly possible though I really can’t see Corbyn picking off that many Labour votes.
He and Farage will take votes in key marginals. Red Wall seats in the north will have Labour votes going to both Corbyn and Farage - who wins the seat eventually is anyone’s guess
Imagine a Labour voter selecting Farage? Staggeringly stupid people.
