6. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) While not really scary, Bram Stoker's Dracula loomed large in my adolescence for its stylish cinematography and moodiness. Eiko Ishioka's costumes are incredible. Casting is great; Keanu gets a lot of shit for his "British" accent, but who cares? Stellar soundtrack!

7. Ginger Snaps (2000) Ostensibly about the tribulations of two spooky sisters coming of age, Ginger Snaps makes lycanthropy a metaphor for puberty (and more specifically, menstruation). It might secretly be the best werewolf movie. Ginger Snaps is also the last video rental I remember loving.
