I'd always thought it was just a local knockoff, specific to my hometown (Eldorado) but my childhood friend swears they were in a couple other towns in IL and MO (Columbia or sikeston maybe?). I recall ours being more like the first sign, brown/orange, kinda Halloweeny but here's another version.
