Dunno how tech savvy you are (or if you've already thought of this) but you might be able to use a tiny raspberry pi to effectively make your old printer a wireless printer. Maybe too much work but you might gain some functionality that way. e.g.,: www.tomshardware.com/how-to/raspb...

Yeah have considered it but honestly not worth the trouble just to keep an ancient printer alive
