The stigma here is insidious. Like, emotional dysregulation is an irredeemable character flaw

People are such ignorant, fraidy animals I don't run from schizoaffective / schizophrenic people. Granted, I have some special understanding here
I tend to agree, as I have an adult child with BPD. Took me a really long time to understand the disorder in order to best support them. BPD behaviors are really easy to demonize people for. I have hope for them though, as they get older their symptoms are getting better. Engaging in therapy helps💕

I feel all of this. I've been working on my BPD for a couple decades, and it took me a long time to be able to accept that I can react or I can respond. The deeper demons inside me are all just waiting for the other shoe to drop and everyone to betray/abandon me. It's a war inside to protect me
Often people claim they support people with mental illness until they show symptoms of mental illness that aren't just being depressed or anxious, and definitely do treat it like a character flaw. Or assume people aren't self aware, doing their best to keep themselves from spiraling.
Truth
What's evil is someone who has sworn an oath to help people having that attitude toward something very real and can impair people from living their lives, gone untreated.
I agree. And when someone with BPD calls them out with this observation the use it as proof of manipulation and bad intent
