The worker's don't exist. Point blank. Anytime unemployment <4%, we are "full employment". All those looking for work AND COLLECTING UNEMPLOYMENT are employed. The <4% are the chronically unemployed or those who cannot find work. Learn more: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_em...

Solving "Full employment" is a bit like solving inflation. It's not a problem you can throw money at. There are structural issues feeding into it. In the same way there is a buyer/seller market for real estate, there is a candidate/employer market for jobs. #fullemployment #workershortage

Personal experience: the daycare worker shortage. Before we had kids, a center in our was estimated to cost ~$600 a month. Now, it's $1,100 for the low cost centers. Average is $1,250 in our area. Our amazing, in-home, unlicensed daycare is $900 We love it, but it is the CHEAPEST we've found.

Personal experience: the daycare worker shortage I used to recruit and one of my "clients" was a daycare. The rates were limited to a 3% increase by the state (good), but it meant wages could not keep up with inflation (bad). They closed all their infant rooms and some toddler rooms due to staffing

My spouse and I had a realization: Dual income, one kid in daycare left us with ~$150 to throw at any unexpected monthly expense that came our way. Him staying home left us with $300. He WANTS to work. He will now be a part of the 4% that wants to work.

The US is experiencing several crisis' at once - critical worker shortage (blue collar/healthcare/childcare), skyrocketing inflation (food/healthcare/childcare), and climate (floods/fires/droughts/temp changes). #climate #crisis

Good news: Solving the worker shortage can assist in solving inflation. Bad news: We will probably need to try some of that "socialism" some of you are scared of, specifically in the health and childcare industries. #medicaidforall #singlepayer #universalhealthcare #universaldaycare

I'm going to tap onto this and add there are some bad actors who WANT families to become single income again. "The women's place is in the home." The number one graduating population is BLACK WOMEN. Which means they have the jobs, which means the lower income husbands are the ones staying home.
