It's wild how *angry* these nerd bros get when I tell them I'm not Sherlock Holmes / Professor Layton / Indiana Jones (or his dad).

I once had an argument with a dude at megacon who *did not believe me* when I corrected him that I was dressed as pregnant padme amidala, not the Alien character he was convinced I was. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😬
Prof Layton?!?! Omg that's not even close 🤦♀️
Feed their tears to the rat.
This is so annoying and yet so unsurprising that they get pissy.
It's wild that properties feel the need to cater to these nerds who can't even tell their own characters apart from entirely different things.
Meanwhile, some of the folks who immediately know I am Siegfried are so shy, they get their friends to verify my cosplay before "bothering" me for a photo. 😅
And these are the people who truly care ♥️
I really wish more folks could just... sit with *not* being able to recognize every cosplay - it gets really awkward when they aggressively reach for a reference they understand. It's fine to ask! It's fine to not know a reference!
Seriously, there are so many costumes that I am just clueless on. And that's okay!
I got no idea who who are supposed to be but the rat sculpture is amazing
🐁❤️
One guy looked at me very skeptically when I said I was cosplaying Siegfried (I even told him there was a reboot series). He said his mom watches the show (!) and took my pic for her. I hope she tells him I'm a dead ringer for the character.
To be fair, a lot of nice people who didn't know what I was from still complimented me on my gaiters, vibes, and the rat ❤️
