I was in the air cadets before going to a public school where CCF was pretty much obligatory. School has its own assault course FFS. Bit of a culture shock, as the air cadets despised the CCF.

My school did the same , Air Cadets to CCF - not that I troubled either

I chose to do Air Cadets, but CCF was compulsory. And they gave me no respect, as I was a prole. Until I decked one of the tw@ts with one punch.
