I have no hope of convincing someone who doesn't know me that - on this topic - they've got bad opinions (and here is the data to support it). There is no opportunity for consensus building.
"I don't know you so instead of having a real conversation I'm going to fall back on stereotypes". It's a very human phenomenon. And bad actors end up having an outsized voice by building echo chambers.
