Hey, test this stuff. Turns out that since I built the git repo one application at a time, I manually added them in dependency order without *specifying* the dependencies in the manifests. Got it fixed now so that on a blank cluster everything deploys with appropriate dependencies.

My development kubernetes cluster running on a VM completely shit the bed after a reboot of the VM. Multiple copies of pods, just a giant mess. Gonna tear it down and re-bootstrap. Benefits of configuration as code.

Mass shootings are something like 1% of US gun deaths. Even so, "perceived grievances" are not caused by guns. Guns don't *cause* any of this. Maybe they make it easier to act on those perceived grievances, or maybe people would find another way to lash out. Culturally we leave people on islands.

There are quite a few other countries with far far fewer guns (and significantly stricter laws) and higher gun homicide rates. The majority of gun deaths in the US are suicides, where we are one of the higher rates in developed countries (Japan is higher - but no guns)

Details: sometimes your network equipment supports the protocol, so you can cover everything on your network, rather than individual devices, but that's typically higher end routers, not what your ISP provides.

Typically a service. Software you install, and the service is for the ongoing ability to connect and route your traffic through the provider. Many of them are lump sum payments for 12-15 months of service.

There are lots of wrinkles, but basically to your ISP, all of your traffic is to the VPN provider and encrypted. To the broader internet, it looks like you are where the outbound traffic from the VPN provider comes from.

It's an encrypted connection from your computer to some other computer, and all of your traffic goes over that connection (and possibly then to the broader internet).
