Just watched the latest episodes of Alien Earth. I was enjoying the first half of the show, when it was moreso about exploring the wreckage, and I did enjoy the episode about the Maginot incident, which was almost a whole isolated Alien film on its own. But past that… it’s kind of stupid
I also keep getting trailers for the season finale, where Wendy has the line “We’ve been scared of the Xenomorphs, but they should be scared of us” in presumed sympathy or defense of their ferociousness, and like… no??? Their entire cycle of propagation involves mindless killing. They have ACID for-
-blood Wendy, their exoskeletons are impenetrable to bullets, in the coming years a single one of them will brutalize at least hundreds to thousands for almost no reason other than pure instinct, they have inner jaws that can pierce through a person’s skull. Like stfu Wendy.
The whole idea of making the Xenomorph a sympathetic figure is just… so stupid to me. Their whole thing is that they’re animalistic and driven by murderous instinct. They’re a semi-hive mind. They weren’t made that way bc of mankind’s hubris or abuses, they were already like that
