Yesterday I opened my house wren nesting box to clean it out, and was super impressed with the beautiful nest that had been constructed inside it. Here's a shot of one of my backyard Northern House Wrens, and two of its nest. #Bobsbackyard #birds #birding #Ancaster #HamOnt

Northern house wren perched in my redbud. Its back is to me, the tail cocked vertically in the air. It is looking off to the right, but might be giving me side eye. The northern house wren nest, still inside the housing box. Lots of fine, delicate bark, perhaps from a cedar tree, spruce needles, and a few feathers. I’ve had a wren ( troglodytes troglodytes ) nest in a gap in my shed roof for the past 3 years. Love having these little birds around. Their nests are works of art.

That is the old country name for a wren. Look very similar to your house wren
