One day when she was about a year and a half old I went to visit the guy I got her from. I had a golden then and Jimi and I just let them loose. The golden jumped in the irrigation ditch and Jimi headed, unbeknownst to me, to the field next to his house where he had 30 or 40 cows.

I couldn't see her from where I was sitting, but he said, "Look at Jimi." She had all those cows packed in a tight pack and was moving them toward the creek. I asked if he wanted me to call her and eventually he said yes. Her herding instinct is strong. Out of the 17 years Ive had her, (cont...)

We've only been separated for 4 days.

Jimi weighed 35-37 pounds in her prime. Now she is about 28. We had her DNA done some years ago and found a Brittany Spaniel in the wood pile, otherwise she is border collie as far back as they went. Her mom was colored like a Brittany. I got her from a cattle rancher friend near Salmon, ID.

Okay thank you, she’s a beauty! I have some borders that are double the size and I am trying to gauge how long they’ll be by my side. Hoping for a long life. They’ll be 9 this year.
