Sometimes, and I speak from experience on this point, it's just nice to hear that #sanity still reigns supreme and that people can hold the actions of one person separate from the vast majority.

Not to belittle a #school-shooting but the #media will certainly pounce on this for the weeks to come and make it ultra- #sensational... yet it was not even the deadliest #MassShooting in the last 48 hours. Keep your chin up and know that you are loved and protected.

STILL - the media is nothing if not predictable and there is a concerted effort afoot to take attention away from America's glaringly permissive gun problem and transfer the blame to "certain kinds of people".

I find little comfort in the statistics that I often rattle off to anybody who will listen but the writing is on the wall and has been since #Columbine. I share my birthday (December 14th) with the memorial anniversary of the #SandyHook massacre.

I don't blow out a candle or accept a gift or card without a silent #Prayer for the little ones lost that day. But as we all know, "thoughts and prayers", are cheap and easy and the work ahead is hard and expensive. If we live to see another day, we have to make it count...
