why doesn't any 'intrepid' "journalist" ask the Speaker about this? I know, stenographers don't ask questions, and that's all we have now instead of a functioning press corps.

The reason "intrepid" "journalists" don't ask the current Speaker is that "journalists with anything resembling integrity" and "journalists allowed near this administration" are mutually exclusive groups. Like, ZERO overlap between them.
