Legend paints King Solomon as a wise and good king, but there's a detail in his story that I feel doesn't get any attention. When the two women were fighting over the baby, King Solomon said to cut the baby in half and give a piece to each woman, knowing of course that the REAL mother would object.

But what about the woman who didn't object? Would she have been satisfied with half a baby? What that says to me is that she didn't want a son, she wanted meat. What does that say about King Solomon as a ruler if his subjects are willing to resort to infant cannibalism?

People think he was wise, but he just sent a potential cannibal home... And he sent her home hungry! ö__ö
