This is NOT coincidence @tee42.bsky.social

Would somebody help me out here? How do accounts with one post (1) end up with 5 to 7K followers? I don’t get it.

Bots, mostly, and certain archiving services.

There is a reason for that I am sure. I saw it on NAZI-TWITTER a lot before I bailed out of there. I kind of wonder if it’s a conduit for booby bots if you accidentally follow one.

Not a reason -- apparently there are many. I used to mute or block accounts that followed me and didn't have any posts, or posts other than cute quotes and pictures. But I got overwhelmed, so I just turned off notifications. It's easier to decide who to follow from interactions.

Think I’ll try that and just turn off DM’s altogether. I got too many accounts sending me those, which tells me they must be automated. I have been blocking, and they keep coming back. Sometimes under different names with the same pictures and posts.

Those are almost certainly bots. I've been enjoying the silence since I turned off DMs and minimized time waste. :)
