i genuinely want to know why Bluesky triggers this response from so many left leaning people. what are these "characteristics that make progressivism unappealing to normal people"? and why are they so adamant that this platform is dying, its an echo chamber, or why its ppl should stay on x instead?

I *have* seen data that this platform is shrinking, rather than growing. Dunno how badly though
is it the need to "fight the right where they are" on X, similar to our wants for the dems (america ik) to even *try* fighting the repubs irl? is it the sense that because no right leaning user is prominent here that we aren't willing to debate them? or are they kinda jealous we can live in bliss?
Yes, you have to dominate them on their own field. Because in the field that you feel comfortable (bsky) an average Joe wouldn’t know what’s going on
it's baffling. perhaps i am in an echo chamber, but maybe its more because we don't give it the time of day knowing that we can control what we see and what we should see is more hope and happiness in our community rather than shit flinging political fights we deem is pointless and soul sucking?
I'm more on twitter than on bluesky, lately I have written some tweets about how people are getting ignorant about the right leaning folks in tech, like people don't (want to) research and sponsor or support them.
I try almost every other day to bring awareness to it that, and that these people are not there for a "together". Once these people are in tech they bring with them other people who are even worse than them. I feel sometimes as if I am talking into the void there.
But the other good part is that there are many good people still on twitter and do make good tech, that just don't feel the need of a platform switch.
I moved away from all of the tech that is right leaning, cancelled subs towards those who do right leaning comments, and muted/blocked those who actively hurt the community I love to be a part of.
I do see some positive vibes here that are kinda "forced" - and that feels not authentic. It's not bad positivity, but brings an uncomfortable place for me. I get it, many here want the best for others! Sometimes it's just too much... Most of the time I do like to read the posts here, lovely!
I just wish that the people on twitter would move away from those right leaning idiots and be nice and kind to each other - and sometimes banter is ok. But since the chaos unfolded there, people don't look back and call their actions "justified", because the platform allows it.

Most of the leftists here would spend days of their life arguing about if hiring a cleaner makes you a bourgeoise, rather than spend an hour voluntering, helping that one homeless guy down the street or picking up trash.
Most of the "online leftism" is driven by ego, a hero complex. And to satisfy it, one can just argue about pointless shit on the internet and engage in virtue signaling. This leads to leftist inbreeding where people argue about more and more idiotic poinst that have no real value in the real life.
That's what alienates people from "online leftism". Most online leftism is a useless circlejerk, doomposting and shit-flinging that has no real value or any use for the real life.
