Yes. They live in the past. It’s all about “conserving” the ways of the past (at least the ways that benefited them). “Make America (dah-dah) AGAIN.” The ideals of strict republicanism are destroyed if all individuals have a say in how things are run. A smartphone in everyone’s hand is anathema.
