I'm casting doubt on the relevancy of that point. Maybe half a century ago CBS did good work, but for all intent and purposes -- especially in my lifetime -- corporate media has largely been useless re: accurate, unbiased reporting. e.g. the fawning coverage of the global war on terror.

In J school I studied how an entire generation of journalists completely failed in their civic duty -- and they all worked for corporate TV news and legacy papers. CBS was among them in defining that failure.

Watched NBC for decades, but gave up with their bias coverage of Trump. Recently switched to CBS. They have good solid reporters and for now they're covering the issues fairly objectively. But with the kowtowing to Trump, which caused the head of 60 Minutes to quit--who knows?
