In 1948, shocked by the events of WW11 nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights a promise to protect freedom, dignity, and justice for all people, so that totalitarianism and tyranny could never take root again. It’s taken root again, stop it growing

Not only WW2. The WW1 memory of entire populations pushed into mechanised meat grinders for the aspirations of their national governments was very, very much alive. Never again they said & human rights were seen as a way to protect people their leaders own nationalist ambitions.
