Workers at Tik Tok’s London Farringdon offices and their union, the Communication Workers Union … said that TikTok’s recently announced redundancies are an act of “union-busting” that will put “millions of British users at risk” as moderation teams savaged.

I'm still stunned that @yorkshirebylines.co.uk put in the huge effort to collect all press-reported downsides of Brexit (David Davis had said there would be "none"!)... ...and has the sheer patience to collect 2,000 discrete incidences via media reports before giving up.

Britain, once a library of ideas, now a toilet scribbled by Reform UK. Hate smeared on the walls, truth down the drain. Someone flush this mess.

J.D. Vance isn’t just waiting — he’s preparing to make authoritarianism look normal. Step by step, rights get stripped, dissent gets silenced, and minority rule is sold as “patriotism.” Totalitarianism doesn’t arrive with a bang, its normalized. Stay awake.

Majority governments do NOT exist in Britain. Under first-past-the-post, a party can grab total power with barely 30% of the vote. That’s not a majority — it’s a lie. 70% of voices are silenced, and Britain calls that “democracy.” It’s not. It’s a rigged system built on minority rule.

Ah yes, raising the VAT threshold the silver bullet for a budget black hole the size of the North Sea. Nothing says ‘responsible economics’ like collecting less tax when you desperately need more.

There’s no mechanism in EU legislation to remove a country from the EU, so it’s impossible. We have to work around him

The Nederlands was the first to introduce an assisted dying act. It was introduced to accommodate public opinion. That for a large % of people this option entails less suffering for the person and their families. I am sure there are also economic benefits but this was not the main drive.

There is no national insurance. I pay 180 euro per month which covers me for most health care issues and services. Dental is not 100% reclaim, I can spend 500 euro per year. Dental is seen as preventable by the person

It’s run by private health care insurance with strict governance by the government. It is not perfect, with Bonuses for the private companies being protested, and rising costs, but in general it is pragmatic approach to health care which seems to provide a good quality of service
