Autistic people wish they didnt need support to survive but they cannot change their neurotype. I hope you can take on this feedback to so as to not stigmatise Autistic people. Autistic people are just trying to survive & having support is vital.

1-5 boys are on NDIS. Does that sound like a reasonable level of diagnosis for autism or spectrum disorders requiring disability support? Don't forget others with real needs will then have to be left off the scheme. Labor has a good policy setting to move autism to another funding stream: No stigma.
How do you isolate all other possible variables when analysing if diagnoses correlate with NDIS? Our understanding of Autism has expanded over the last 6 or so years which has helped people be able to identify it more in kids & adults.
Ndis has its set requirements to qualify to be on it. It is guided by being able to demonstrate functional issues to qualify not by diagnosis. If someone can demonstrate they need support then they likely qualify for ndis regardless of diagnosis.
There are Autistics that get rejected from ndis because their evidence didn't demonstrate their functional issues qualify. Just as people w/ other diagnoses have because their evidence didnt demonstrate their functional issues to qualify.
You say no stigma but you say โothers with REAL needsโ indicating you dont think Autistics have real needs. You also indicate you think Autistics on ndis block others getting on it stigmatising Autistics as taking away from others.
Mild spectrum disorders are not what NDIS was set up to serve. Do you see yourself as having "a significant disability"? That's what NDIS was designed to serve - REAL disability needs. Labor is setting up another program for autistic kids, so time to calm the farm.
Significant disability can look different on different people & different diagnoses. Im not going to continue a discussion since you clearly are trying to stigmatise Autistics & wont take valid valuable & constructive feedback on. Wishing you peace โฎ๏ธ
Good idea to conclude this discussion where you are clearly trying to suggest l am stigmatising Autistics when in fact l am highlighting the different pathways to support that will be provided to them by the Australian government.
You only mentioned the other program in the comments. Your initial post suggests people are only getting diagnosed to get onto ndis - this creates the perception that people are just trying to milk the system & calls into question specifically those diagnosed Autistic.
You clearly are stigmatising Autistics because you have stated repeatedly you dont see it as a condition that can be disabling nor that it has real support needs.
